MEET US at the bus stop adjacent to the New Farm Park Ferry Terminal. This is the starting point for a 90-minute walk along Oxlade Drive as well as Griffith, Maxwell and Moreton Streets in New Farm.
With its beautiful homes and gardens, Oxlade Drive is considered one of New Farm’s most attractive avenues. Along with notable homes of the past, are sites relating to wartime and industry, as well as one of Brisbane’s earliest hi-rise apartment blocks.
After Oxlade Drive, we’ll continue with the stories along nearby lesser known avenues so as to pass several homes which feature in Homes with History.
By the time we arrive at Merthyr Village, having completed a ‘half-circle of the peninsula’, morning tea will have been well-earned.
Your tour guide will be Gerard Benjamin, author of three highly-informative books about New Farm, including the current popular title, New Farm: 50 Stories.
